Exchanges
- Coinbase / GDAX – biggest cryptocurrency exchange that takes fiat deposit, is FDIC insured, all digital currencies are fully insured, company is worth $1 billion as at June 2017
- Kraken – based in San Francisco, it is the biggest exchange for transactions denominated in Euro
- Gemini – based in New York, founded by the Winklevoss twins, have the least recent issues among the bigger exchanges
- Poloniex – largest cryptocurrency exchange by transaction volume but do not accept fiat deposits
- QuadrigaCX – biggest exchange in Canada
- Liqui – offers trading in many tokens, usually very quickly after tokens are tradable after ICOs but has less volume
- Bittrex – also offers trading in many tokens with higher volume than Liqui
- Bitfinex - out of all the exchanges, I like Bitfinex's layout the most. However, note that it was hacked in 2016.
- Ether Delta - a decentralized exchange where you can use your own wallet to trade. However, it is not very user-friendly and slower than other exchanges.
- Shapeshift – allows swapping different cryptocurrencies / tokens very quickly but usually with a higher fee

- MyEtherWallet – secure and reputable site, have many different functions, you can generate a wallet instantly, highly recommended. I use it to contribute to ICOs.
- Parity – Ethereum browser and wallet
- Mist – Ethereum browser and wallet
- Metamask – Ethereum browser and wallet
- Ethereum Wallet - a secure wallet made by the Ethereum Foundation but not as user-friendly
- Ledger Wallet – cold storage. *Note – due to the spike in popularity of cryptocurrency, the products are backlogged for a couple of months
